There are two types of motors that suit the Dyson vacuum cleaners. The most common is the YDK motor, for a brief period Dyson fitted their DC05 vacuum cleaners with a Panasonic motor. The YDK is very popular and is found in a large range of the models including DC04, DC05, DC07, DC14 and DC08.
There are two styles of motors available as one has a shaft and one does not. A majority of the DC08 models do not have a shaft. When selecting your replacement motor we recommend to check to see what type of motor your vacuum cleaner has before replacing it.
